I have been receiving a lot of questions about how to move to Canada recently!
While there is no “instant” way of immigrating to Canada as a permanent resident, here are some ideas to consider:
1. Maybe you are already a Canadian citizen and didn’t realize it! You don’t have to be born in Canada to be a Canadian citizen. If one of your parents (or in some cases your grandparents) is a Canadian citizen, you may be able to get proof of citizenship. Then you are legally allowed to live in Canada for as long as you want.
2. If your spouse or common-law partner is a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, they may be able to sponsor you for permanent residence if you both intend to move to Canada.
3. You can try applying for permanent residence through Express Entry or a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Some PNPs have options for non-residents of the province, for skills that are in demand, or for investors.
4. There is also the possibility of coming to Canada faster as a temporary resident (work or study permit) and applying for permanent residence after a couple of years. A Canadian diploma and/or work experience gives you a better chance in Express Entry and can open the door to additional PNP permanent residence programs.
Good luck, and please contact us to determine which immigration pathway could work for you!
