Since June 15th, 2023, employers outside of Québec can hire francophone or bilingual foreign workers without an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment). This pilot project is in place for 2 years and applies to all jobs except for those in primary agriculture.
If you are an employer, it’s simpler, quicker, and the cost is significantly lower than applying for an LMIA.
If you are looking for work, you will need to take the TEF or TCF exam for at least speaking and listening skills in French and get a low intermediate score. If you are currently in Québec as a visitor or worker you will need to find a job and move to another province. You can look for jobs in the Government of Canada job bank and when you apply for one, let the employer know you are eligible for this program.
